Paul Leibow is an accomplished artist whose works have appeared in over seventy group exhibitions and several one-man shows. The recipient of countless reviews and awards, Leibow's work has been published in art books and The New York Times. A video of his art is on display in the Metropolitan Museum of Arts program for art on film. Known for experimenting with unique and rarely used materials, Leibow now creates art works based on connections with the human figure. Deconstructing familiar imagery, Leibow creates works that bridge intellect with exploration of an awareness of the self to achieve universal connections with who we all are beneath the surface. |

| 1.
Telegenic aquariums. Mixed media & function art. These distinct sculptures are derived from actual antique television consoles from the 40's, 50's, and 60's, which have been refinished, and retro-fitted with a thicker-glass aquarium, under water filter, gravel and plants. The sculpture is then wired up so that when you turn on the TV, the light comes on and instantly illuminates live fish, reptiles or plants to your favorite channel without commercial interruption. |

4.
Currency acrylic-based series. This series began at the end of 1980's and continued as a ten-year series, up until 1999. Most of these works comment on human nature within our culture through enlarging, abstracting and deconstructing currency. They focus on our connections to the commercial environment and how that applies to the development and urbanization of each country, entertaining theories on how shareholders' connections to the quarterly report urges for short term return no matter the cost. These works explore and develop in part through references from CNBC, TV sound bites, Wall Street and the market itself. |

European water color landscapes. European water colors, These European watercolors reveal the landscape from all over the various Greek isles. Santorini, Crete, Evia, Kefalonia and Ithaca among others. The works engulf your senses reminiscent of sweet smells that roll down through the rich vegetation on the mountains, and out over the crystal clear oceans and through out the small local multi-colored fishing boats that inhabit every port in and about the islands. It is the feeling of the uncomplicated ways there, that form the style in these paintings. Simple uninhibited strokes and washes relay a lot with very little, similar to the way the land and people are. |
